GE SR489-P1-HI-A20-E-H high-end management relay
I. Comprehensive protection functions
Electrical fault protection
Differential protection: It adopts a high-speed double-slope algorithm to provide sensitive protection against internal faults of the generator stator winding (such as interphase short circuit and inter-turn short circuit), and supports CT saturation detection to prevent misoperation due to faults outside the zone.
Grounding protection: It provides 100% stator grounding protection. Through the combined criterion of the third harmonic voltage and the fundamental zero-sequence voltage, it accurately locates the grounding fault position (neutral point side or machine end side).
Overcurrent/overvoltage/undervoltage protection: Multi-stage inverse-time overcurrent protection, and phase current, negative sequence current and zero sequence current protection can be configured. Overvoltage/undervoltage protection has a delay characteristic to prevent the system from malfunctioning due to transient fluctuations.
Abnormal working condition protection
Demagnetization protection: Based on the impedance circle characteristic, it monitors the excitation status of the generator in real time and acts quickly in case of demagnetization faults to prevent the stability of the system from being damaged.
Reverse power protection: Prevents the generator from operating as an electric motor, protects prime movers such as steam turbines from damage, and the action threshold and delay can be precisely configured.
Over-frequency/low-frequency protection: Monitor the system frequency, respond to grid frequency fluctuations, and have the function of frequency change rate (df/dt) detection to enhance the rapidity of protection.
Backup protection
Distance protection: Two-stage interphase and ground distance protection, serving as a backup for the main protection, is used to eliminate distant faults.
Circuit breaker failure protection: When a circuit breaker fails to operate is detected, the adjacent circuit breaker is quickly activated to trip, preventing the fault from expanding.
Ii. High-precision measurement and monitoring
Electrical parameter measurement
It can measure parameters such as three-phase voltage, current, active/reactive power, power factor and frequency in real time, with a measurement accuracy of 0.2%.
Supports harmonic analysis, capable of monitoring the content of harmonics from the 2nd to the 31st order and evaluating power quality.
Temperature monitoring
It is equipped with 12 built-in RTD inputs, directly connected to the generator winding and bearing temperature sensors to achieve over-temperature early warning and tripping protection.
Support thermal model calculation, dynamically predict winding temperature based on load current, and detect potential overheating risks in advance.
Event recording and fault recording
Store the most recent 1000 event records with a time resolution of 1ms, recording information such as protection actions and switch status changes.
The fault recording function can record the voltage and current waveforms before and after the fault, and supports export in COMTRADE format, which is convenient for fault analysis.
Iii. Flexible control and Automation
Programmable logic
Built-in programmable logic controller (PLC), supporting ladder diagram (LD) and function block diagram (FBD) programming in accordance with IEC 61131-3 standards.
Users can customize logical control strategies to achieve complex automation functions (such as automatic synchronization and load distribution).
Switch input/output
7 programmable digital inputs for monitoring the status of external devices (such as circuit breaker positions and temperature switches).
Six C-type output relays with contact capacity of 10A/250V AC/DC can control the opening and closing of circuit breakers, signal alarms, etc.
Concurrent function
The automatic synchronous detection function monitors the voltage difference, frequency difference and phase difference between the generator to be connected and the power grid, and automatically issues a closing command when the conditions are met.
It supports both manual synchronization and automatic synchronization modes to meet different operational requirements.
Iv. Strong communication and integration capabilities
Multi-protocol support
It is standardly equipped with 2 RS485 ports, supporting Modbus RTU and DNP 3.0 protocols, with a maximum communication rate of 19200bps.
An optional Ethernet interface is available, supporting Modbus TCP and IEC 61850-8-1 protocols to meet the requirements of digital substations and distributed energy systems.
Remote monitoring and management
Remote parameter setting, status query and fault diagnosis are realized through the communication interface, and SNTP time synchronization is supported.
Supports the network server function, and the relay configuration interface and real-time data can be accessed through the Web browser.
Analog interface
The 4-20mA analog output with four isolated channels can transmit key electrical parameters (such as current, voltage and power) to the DCS or SCADA system.
V. High Reliability Design
Environmental adaptability
Operating temperature range: -20°C to + 60°C, storage temperature range: -40°C to + 85°C.
Protection grade: IP20 for the front panel, and the entire machine has passed the vibration and shock tests in accordance with IEC 60255-22-6 standard.
Anti-interference ability
It complies with the IEC 61000-4 series electromagnetic compatibility standards, and is resistant to radio frequency interference (10V/m, 80-1000MHz), fast transient pulse groups (4kV), and surges (2kV).
Redundant design
The dual-CPU architecture features the main CPU responsible for protecting the algorithm, while the auxiliary CPU is in charge of communication and the human-machine interface, enhancing reliability.
The power module supports both AC and DC power supply and is equipped with a built-in redundant power circuit to ensure that key data is not lost in case of power failure.

Enhanced LCD display, 40 characters ×4 lines, adjustable backlight, clear and legibility in sunlight.
The front panel is equipped with function keys and a numeric keypads, supporting local parameter Settings and operations without the need for external tools.

The withdrawable design supports hot-swappable modules, eliminating the need to disconnect external wiring during maintenance and reducing downtime.
