Working principle

Processor operation: Equipped with the PowerPC 603e processor, with a main frequency as high as 266MHz, it can execute various instructions at high speed, perform arithmetic operations, logical operations, etc., process the input data and programs, provide core computing power for the operation of the entire module, be able to quickly handle complex control algorithms and real-time data, and is suitable for tasks with high real-time requirements.

Memory data storage and reading: Supports up to 128MB of SDRAM, which can temporarily store running programs and data, allowing the processor to access them quickly and improving data processing efficiency. At the same time, it may be equipped with RAM such as battery buffer and NVRAM, etc., to store key configuration information and important data, ensuring that data is not lost in case of power failure or other situations, so that the system can quickly restore its operating state after a restart.

Data communication: It is equipped with an Ethernet port and supports the TCP/IP protocol stack, enabling data transmission with other devices or systems via the network and achieving functions such as remote monitoring and data sharing. It also has multiple EIA-232-D (RS232) serial ports, which can be connected to serial port devices such as sensors and actuators to achieve data interaction and control with the underlying devices. In addition, it supports the VME bus and can be seamlessly connected with other VME modules to build more complex embedded systems, achieving high-speed data communication and collaborative work among modules.

Timing and interrupt control: It is equipped with multiple timers internally, such as four 32-bit programmable clocks with a resolution of 1μs, which can be used for timing tasks, such as timed data collection and timed command sending. The tick timer can be programmed to generate periodic interrupts to the processor, enabling the processor to respond to timed events in a timely manner. After the watchdog timer is enabled, it needs to be reset by the software within the programming time; otherwise, it will time out. After the timeout, a SYSRESET signal, local reset signal or board fault signal can be generated according to the Settings to monitor the system's operating status, prevent the system from crashing due to faults, and ensure the stability and reliability of the system.

Bus and interface expansion: It includes interfaces such as PCI bus, featuring excellent scalability. It can be connected to other functional modules, such as additional storage modules and communication modules, etc. System functions can be expanded according to actual application requirements to meet diverse needs in different scenarios.

Application scenarios

Intelligent warehousing and logistics: It is used in the main control system of AGV (Automated Guided Vehicle), and is connected to the factory MES system via Ethernet to receive task instructions. It is combined with RS232 serial port to connect to lidar and encoder to achieve path planning and obstacle avoidance control. At the same time, it uses a watchdog timer to ensure 7× 24-hour troupless operation.

Process industry monitoring: In petroleum refining and chemical plants, as the core node of DCS (Distributed Control System), it collects data from sensors such as temperature and pressure (through multiple serial ports), and then quickly generates control signals through the PowerPC processor to adjust the valve opening and pump speed, achieving closed-loop control of equipment such as distillation columns.

Smart grid relay protection: Deployed in substation protection devices, it receives IEC 61850 protocol data through high-speed Ethernet, analyzes current and voltage waveforms by using the real-time computing power of the processor, identifies faults such as short circuits and overloads within milliseconds, drives circuit breakers to act, and stores fault recording data through NVRAM.

Renewable energy management: In the wind farm monitoring system, as the main control module of the wind turbine, it is connected to the variable pitch servo system via RS232. Based on the data from the wind speed sensor, the blade Angle is dynamically adjusted. Meanwhile, the communication card is expanded through the PCI bus to upload the power generation data to the cloud platform, achieving energy efficiency optimization.

Aircraft avionics system As the core of the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) flight control computer, in an environment ranging from -40 ℃ to +85℃, it receives GPS and IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) data via RS232.
