QDE-3.5N normal braking air friction brake for wire machine

QDE-N normal braking air friction brake is spring applied air release working. That is to say, in normal without air pressure, brake is in braked status; after supplying air pressure, friction pads separated, brake is in released status. This is a large torque brake, max torque can be reach to 20000N.m.

There are two models of this caliper disc brake: QDE-3.5N, QDE-4N. They are equiped with 3.5" and 4" air cylinder head in separately, so their braking power is different, too. Following is the structure and technical data of this QDE-N brake.

According to this table, we will understand that these two models of brake friction pads open mouth is different. The QDE-3.5N is suitable for friction disk thickness is 25.4mm, and QDE-4N is suitable for friction disk thickness is 40mm. Although QDE-3.5N and QDE-4N cylinder head size is much different, one is 3.5# cylinder head, another is 4# cylinder head, their air volume is much different. QDE-3.5N air volume is 95cm³, QDE-4N air volume capacity is 300cm³. 

On the other hand, caliper disc brake's braking force is various as braking disc diameter. In air pressure is 0.6Mpa, when braking disk diameter is 760mm, QDE-3.5N braking force is about 8700N.m, QDE-4N is 10000N.m. When friction plate diameter is 1370mm, QDE-3.5N brake's braking power is 16500N.m, QDE-4N braking power is nearly 20000N.m.
