l Excellent Processing Capability, High Integrity and Low Power Consumption

ZXSS10 SS1b is a carrier-grade soft switch product with highest integrity and processing capability. It achieves a peak capacity of approximately 30M BHCA by cascading 10 shelves in four 19-inch racks only. Compared with its industry counterparts of the same capacity, ZXSS10 SS1b saves up to 40% of the power consumption.

ZXSS10 SS1b supports six million user lines, one million trunk lines, 1024 signaling points, and two million media gateways. With the industry-leading technical performance ZXSS10 SS1b is suitable for large-scale commercial network deployment.

l APOB Design to Reduce OPEX

ZXSS10 SS1b adopts the design idea of APOB (All Protocol over One Board), which is different from its industry counterparts that process different protocols on different types of boards. This design allows a protocol processing board to process different types of signaling.  In this way it reduces the number of board types for carriers, which has helped lead to a significant reduction in OPEX.

l Supporting Standard Protocols, Extensive Interworking Experience and Fast Networking Capability

ZXSS10 SS1b is an open and multi-protocol supporting network entity, which adopts normative protocols to interoperate with media gateway, signaling gateway, terminal and other peer network elements. All the protocols that ZXSS10 SS1b supports fully comply with ITU-T, ANSI and ETSI standards. ZTE has interoperated with 11 kinds of other vendors’ softswitch, 37 kinds of other vendors’ gateway, over 50 kinds of other vendors’ terminals and 10 kinds of other vendor’s application servers, which has accumulated extensive commercial application and construction experience. 

l Smooth and Reused Evolution to IMS

ZXSS10 SS1b complying with TISPAN NGN criterion can evolve to IMS network elements including MGCF and IM-SSF, which ensures network continuity and reduces carrier’s TCO.

l Full Inheritance of PSTN Services and Abundant IN Services to Improve ARPU

ZXSS10 SS1b inherits all PSTN basic and supplementary services to ensure seamless and consistent user experience. It supports multimedia services, VoIP services, and SMS. In addition, it supports open, standard third-party Parlay API and SIP interfaces to provide diverse value-added services.

Carrier-grade Reliability, Patented CDR Protection Mechanism, Multi-level QoS Policy Assurance

l Carrier-grade Reliability and Redundancy Solutions

ZXSS10 SS1b employs the Share-Recovery technology. All boards are hot-standby, hot-swapping and fault-tolerant, ensuring seamless switchover upon board failures to avoid service interruption.

ZXSS10 SS1b supports the dual-homing technology and 1+1 GR (Geographic redundancy) networking mode. In case of unexpected failures, the redundant SS1b will take over all the registration traffic delivered by TG, AG, IAD and other registration NEs that are homed to the failed SS1b to ensure normal network operation.

l Patented CDR Protection Mechanism and CDR Verification Function

ZXSS10 SS1b employs the T-assurance technology, making CDRs accurate to 10ms. It adopts the three-level security mechanism and retransmission mechanism to ensure the reliability of CDR transmission. 

Its CDR functions including long duration CDR verification, searching and filtering, and statistic reporting provide source data and reports for operational analysis and troubleshooting.

l Complete and Accurate Traffic Analysis to Provide Data for Operational Analysis

By leveraging the multi-task and multi-object traffic statistic function, ZXSS10 SS1b could perform complete and accurate traffic statistics (including number of calls and connection rate). In addition it monitors operational performance and outputs statistic reports to provide scientific and exact data for operational status monitoring and network regulation.

l Perfect Traffic Control and Policy Management

ZXSS10 SS1b supports six-level threshold traffic control and policy management, which provide efficient traffic modulation and over-load protection.

l Perfect QoS Mechanism , Flexible Voice Quality Assurance, Service-Differentiated Capability

ZXSS10 SS1b as the call control equipment supports active/passive QoS detection and dynamic voice codec adjustment according to network status.  ZXSS10 SS1b also supports VAD, CNG, PLC, MOS/R-FACTOR parameter analysis, and service/user based QoS policies to provide flexible voice quality assurance. In addition, it is able to deliver differentiated services for high-priority users.
