1.1.1 Overview

Huge growth of data flow brings in great bandwidth pressure to transmission network, the enterprises become more urgent to build 100Gb/s OTN networks. At the same time, due to the rapid development of IP services and increasing complex network topology demands, the transport network nowadays is capable of speeding up service delivery and implementing multidirectional multi-granular service dispatching. Therefore, large electrical cross-connected equipment with 100Gb/s transmission capability which can schedule ODU0/1/2/2e/3/3e2/4/flex granularities efficiently becomes the focus of enterprise network. 

ZXONE 8000 Series are large-capacity cross-connected equipments based on iOTN platform. They supports 10G/40G/100Gb/s, enabling large-capacity ODUk electrical cross connection and optical cross connection at wavelengths of 10G/40G/100Gb/s. ZXONE 8000 Series can be deployed at the backbone or metro layer, satisfying the enterprises’ requirements for the transparent transmission of large granularity services, flexible scheduling, service monitoring and management.

1.1.1 Key Features

 Ultra large transport capacity

 ZXONE 8000 supports 80×100G large-capacity transmission, fully meeting increasing bandwidth requirement.

 Excellent 100G transport capability

 ZXONE 8000 100Gb/s system adopts PM-QPSK encoding to support SD-FEC technology with good OSNR tolerance. Transmission distance can reach over 1,500 kilometers without electrical relay. Industry's most advanced DSP processing technology can support 30ps of PMD tolerance and ± 50000ps/nm of chromatic dispersion tolerance. The system supports 2500km transmission distance without chromatic dispersion compensation or PMD compensation, which saves the investments and facilitates the maintenance.

 Flexible service access capability

 The client board is capable of accessing, including STM-N, FE/GE/10GE/40GE/100GE, OTU1/2/3/4, DVB, ESCON and Fiber Chancel services;

 Universal service access board satisfies full-service development demands.

 Large-capacity ODUk electrical cross-connect

 ZXONE 8000 supports large-capacity electrical cross-connect of 0.8T/1.6T/3.2T and enables non-blocking electrical cross-connect of multi-granularity services including ODU0/1/2/2e/3/3e2/4/flex; it can be deployed at aggregation/core nodes in the network.

 O/E hybrid cross-connect and intelligent dispatching

 Support 2-9-degree ROADM at optical layer, enabling automatic E2E wavelength provisioning;

 Implement automatic E2E wavelength and sub-wavelength provisioning by use of electrical cross-connect at electrical layer;

 Implement dual-plane (optical layer and electrical layer) intelligent control via loading WASON, accelerating service provisioning. Provide multiple restoration paths for critical services to enhance service survivability and boost network utilization.

 Synchronization

 Support out-band / in-band 1588V2 transmission and synchronous Ethernet transmission.

 High integration, eco-friendly and energy-saving feature

 A single board can access two 40GE, eight 10GE or sixteen GE/2.5G services, and a single sub-rack can support cross-connect capacity of 3.2T, vastly saving equipment room space. 

 Lowest power consumption help to build green and power-saving network.

 Highly reliable system architecture

 Adopt redundant 1+1 hot backup for main control unit, power supply unit and clock unit.

 The cross-connect unit employs advanced redundancy protection, highly improving equipment security.

 Reliable carrier-class protection

 Based on years of engineering practices and robust technology strength in the field of network protection, ZTE developed fiber-level, λ-level, sub-λ-level and L2 protection modes:

 Fiber-level: line 1+1 protection, optical multiplex section 1+1 protection and optical multiplex section shared protection;

 λ-level: Optical channel shared protection, optical channel 1+1 protection;

 Sub-λ-level: ODUk 1+1 protection, ODUk shared protection;

 L2: ESR protection.
