It is the committee unit of composite insulator standardization technique commission of Chinese national and electric power industry and the important supplier of UHVAC insulator for State Grid Corporation of China. It is the first modern company of the industry who has passed ISO9001 Quality System, ISO14001 Environment Management System and OHSAS18001 Occupational Health & Safety Management System Authentication. Its the high-tech company in Hubei province which firstly exports products to EU, Middle East, South Asia and South Africa etc. The products of Tongli brand has been successively titled as the famous brand of Hubei province, 500KV is assessed as the national- class new product, 1000KV is assessed as the national-class key new product.

Since the product launch in 1989, within accumulatively more than 5 million applications, theres none accident of breakdown of inner-insulator or Brittle Fracture of FRP Rod happened. Tongli Composite Insulator has markets in 31 provinces and cities of China, and its exported to more than 30 countries like Britain, Italy, India, and Iran etc.

Taking its strong technical advantage, the company has developed 10-1000KV AC-DC Long Rod composite insulator, 10-500KV Interphase Composite Spacer, 10-220KV beam (telescopic) composite insulator, the specialized insulator of preventing from bird hazard, anti-windage yaw and flashover, electrified railway used composite insulator, the series products of anti-pollution coating materials. It has two kinds of production technology: injection molding and sheds-ribs. With the annual productive capability of one million of standard composite insulator, it is so-far the largest-scaled production base for composite insulator in the world

The manufacturer was established in 1936, which is a national large-scale first-class enterprise, key leading enterprise of the mechanical industry now, the new high-tech enterprise of Nanjing.  It has been awarded ISO9001:2000 quality management system certificate and obtained the titles such as national model of electro-ceramic trade and national enterprise of good quality and benefit, etc.. The trade mark of thunder and lightning brand registered in 1937 enjoys great prestige domestic and internationally.

The toughened glass insulators with the brand thunder and lightning are produced by the company with the foreign advanced technology and their own intellectual property. The quality of the product has reached the contemporary international advanced level among the same kind of products. The product has become the national outstanding new technological product and the famous brand product of Jiangsu Province, which has already been used on more than 200 transmission lines for 500kV both in China and world (among them 21 transmission lines for EHV in Three-Gorge engineering). Since the third term of technical reform was finished in 2006, the company has been able to produce 10 millions pieces of glass insulators per year with four forming lines, and become world-class glass insulator manufacturers.

Besides its own strict tests, Tongli composite insulator has first passed the aging resistance test of Holland Laboratory KEMA under the simulated condition of 5000 hours of running voltage, the type test of the Canadian Laboratory Powertech and the type test of Italian Laboratory CESI. All the products will be tested and assessed by the authorities like State Grid HV Institute of Wuhan and Electric Power Science Institute of China etc.
