300L Copper mash tun

As we all know, beer is born in the brewhouse and grows up in the fermenters. So the beer brewhouse is a 

necessary and important part of beer brewery, and mainly achieves four steps, mashing, lautering, boiling, 

whirlpooling. In the brewhouse, the milled grain would become mash(a mixer of grain and water) firstly, 

then the mash would become wort after lautering, boiling and whirlpooling.

300L copper mash tun is various in combination of vessels because of special brewing intentions, 

different mashing way(decoction and infusion) or the expected capacity of wort per day. 

We would design the brewhouse according to your detailed requirements. 

For example:

1.Two vessels----Mash/lauter tun+kettle/whirlpool tun(+hot liquor tun)

2.Three vessels----Mash tun+lauter tun+kettle/whirlpool tun(+hot liquor tun)

If you adopt infusion mashing way, it is no problem to use two vessels brewhouse. But if decoction mashing way, the mash tun and lauter tun can not share one same tank, since the false bottom will affect the mash running from the mash tun to brew kettle. If so, we recommend three vessels brewhouse.

Steam, direct fire and electric heating are supplied. In order to help you choose one suitable heating way, 

here we made a simple comparison of these three different heating.

Steam heating: a bolier should be equipped, which is better chioce for above 1000L brewhouse unit. 

Because it heat evenly and fast, also easy to control temperature,not scorch the pot.

Direct fire heating:direct fire heating will require a good burner firstly, then we will add a agitator (VFD controlled) 

inside the brew kettle to avoid any risk of wort pasting on the bottom

Electric heating:it also behaves well for the volume under 500L, saving the investment on the boiler.

if there is no condition to use the boiler or burner, it is more economical by using electricity. 

Q: What size building do I need?

For a brewpub a lot depends on what your yearly volume is and how many different types of beer you want 

to offer. The minimum surface starts at about 20m2. There are also some estimate area requests in our 

different brewery systems in specification above. For microbreweries the main factor is yearly volume. 

For small microbreweries a floor space of 300m2  is often more than sufficient.For details on your project,

Q: What utilities do I need for a brewery?

Typically water, electricity and drains are needed.
In general 2 and 3 phase electricity is needed and can be 110/220/380/400/415/440 at 50/60Hz.

The size of the water connection is determined by the size of the brewery but for most projects 5.000 liter of 

water per hour with a pressure of 3 bar is sufficient.For your steam boiler a natural gas connection or a tank 

with light oil will be needed. Because of the temperature, steel pipe drains are preferred in a brewery and 

sufficient drains are always handy. For brewery project we provide our customers with detailed requirement 

on the utilities and their respective location.
