Epoxy Primer Rust proof for Steel surfaces and resist alkalization for Concrete surfaces JONES EPO

JONES^®EPO is the two-component epoxy primer solidified by Polyamide or Amine. It is compatible with most of another Chlorinated rubber, Polyurethane and Epoxy.

It is used as the primer for increasing adhesion, resisting to alkalization of the finish on concrete surfaces and

rust-proof on steel surfaces.

JONES^®EPO has been certified as conforming to the JAPANESE INDUSTRIAL STANDARD JIS K 5551:2008.

• Good adhesion on metal, concrete, wood and plastic surfaces.    
• Resistance to acid, salt, gasoline, oil and water.
• Resistance to alkalization of concrete.

•  Bare steel:  To get the best finish, the cleaning with abrasive blast should be conformed to SA 2^1/2, and the removing oil and grease with solvent should be conformed to SSPC-SP1.
• Shopprimed steel: Clean, dry and undamaged approved shopprimer.
• For the concrete surfaces, the wet cloths should be used for cleaning dirt and other same contaminants.
• The dilute detergent or solvent should be used for removing oil and grease. For exterior surfaces, jet-water can be used. Filling and leveling the holes and cracks on the surface with suitable materials. The rough surface will increase adhesion. The surface humidity is not more than 12%.
• Firstly, Stir well the base (part A) with an agitator, then pour the hardener (part B) slowly into the stirred base (part A), and mix them (part A with part B) together thoroughly in the ratio of 4 to 1.
• Continuously stir well for 3 minutes until getting the available mixture.
• Thinner should be only used in the case of exceptional circumstances (max. 5% by the weight of A & B mixture).
• The available A & B mixture must be used within the pot life (7 hours at 23⁰C).

• The practiced surface temperature is more than 10⁰C (It’s at least 5⁰C above the dew point) and the practiced space humidity is equal or less than 85%.
• Drying time depends on temperature, humidity and ventilation of application space. High temperature and good ventilation help the drying time to be more quickly.
