Working principle
Digital signal reception and conversion: The module is connected to the controller (such as PLC) through internal circuits to receive digital control signals sent by the controller. These digital signals usually represent the expected output values, such as the digital codes corresponding to the valve opening that needs to be controlled, motor speed, etc. The digital-to-analog conversion circuit (DAC) inside the module converts these digital signals into analog voltage signals, which are proportional to the input digital quantity.
Current output generation: The converted analog voltage signal passes through the current conversion circuit to transform it into a standard analog current signal of 4-20mA. This is because in industrial control, the 4-20mA current signal has the advantages of strong anti-interference ability and long transmission distance. There will be a precise constant current source circuit inside the module to ensure that the output current signal is stable and not affected by factors such as load changes.
Signal output and control: The generated 4-20mA current signal is connected to external field devices such as control valves and frequency converters through the output terminals of the module. External devices perform corresponding operations based on the magnitude of the received current signal. For example, the regulating valve will adjust the opening degree of the valve according to the current signal, thereby controlling the flow rate of the fluid. The frequency converter will adjust the motor speed according to the current signal.
Output feedback and fault diagnosis: The module is equipped with an output feedback check function, which can monitor the output current signal in real time. When abnormal situations such as output feedback less than 1.5mA occur, the module can detect and determine it as a fault, and send an alarm signal to the controller or operator through the indicator light or communication interface to remind them to handle it.
Other functional auxiliary work: The module also has the function of maintaining the final state of output. When communication with the CPU is interrupted, it can maintain the output in the last valid state according to the setting, avoiding device loss of control due to communication failure. Meanwhile, it supports circuit scaling function. Users can configure the output signal range and other parameters according to their actual needs to adapt to different application scenarios.

Industrial automated production lines: In automated production lines such as automotive manufacturing and electronic equipment production, they can be used to control the movement accuracy of robot arms. Process control industry: In the temperature control of reaction vessels in industries such as chemical engineering and pharmaceuticals, this module can convert the digital signals of the control system into analog current signals to control the power of heating or cooling equipment and precisely regulate the temperature inside the reaction vessel. In sewage treatment plants, it can be used to control the flow rate of water pumps. Based on parameters such as the liquid level of the sewage and the treatment volume, the current signal output by the module is used to control the frequency converter of the water pump, thereby adjusting the rotational speed of the water pump to achieve the reasonable transportation and treatment of sewage.
Power system: In substations, it can be used to monitor and control the operating parameters of power equipment. For instance, the sensor signals such as transformer oil temperature and winding temperature are converted into 4-20mA current signals and transmitted to the control system to achieve real-time monitoring of the transformer's operating status. It can also be used in reactive power compensation devices. According to the reactive power demand of the power grid, it outputs current signals to control the connection and disconnection of capacitor banks or reactors, maintaining the stability of the power factor of the power grid.
Hvac system: In the HVAC system of large commercial buildings or industrial plants, the fan speed of the air conditioning unit, the opening degree of the chilled water valve, etc. can be controlled. Based on the feedback signals from the indoor temperature and humidity sensors, this module outputs current signals to regulate related equipment, achieving comfortable control of the indoor environment and energy-saving operation.
