California Energy Efficiency CEC Certification
Certification Introduction:
CEC certification is an appliance energy efficiency regulation (Appliance Efficiency Regulation) implemented by the California Energy Commission on December 30, 2005. The purpose of the implementation of this regulation is to improve the efficiency of electrical products, save energy, reduce gas emissions and greenhouse effects. At present, BACL has obtained authorization for a variety of products such as audio and video, energy-saving lamps, LED high-efficiency lighting fixtures, ballasts and power supplies, and can provide customers with CEC-related tests and reports.
Recently, the California Energy Efficiency Commission has updated the version of Title20, Title24 and voluntary certification, as follows:
CEC Title 20
In January 2019, the CEC Title20 household electrical regulations officially released a new version CEC-140-2019-002. The new regulations emphasize that the definition of general lighting bulbs released by DOE on January 19, 2017 will continue to be used, and emphasize that general lighting bulbs with a luminous efficacy of less than 45lm/w will not be sold in the California market from January 1, 2020. Battery charger regulations CEC Title 20 will take effect on June 13, 2018.

On January 1, 2017, CEC added regulations and certification requirements for LED bulbs in Title20 Section1601-1607, and can consider accepting LED bulb compliance data from January 1, 2017. On January 1, 2018, CEC released certification templates and guidelines and officially began to accept LED bulb certification. CEC Title24
Building lighting energy efficiency regulations are updated approximately every three years. The new 2019 building lighting energy efficiency regulations are improved on the basis of the 2016 regulations. The current 2019 building lighting energy efficiency regulations are CEC-400-2018-020-CMF, which has been effective since January 1, 2020. The new regulations CEC Title24 2022 have been announced, and the specific effective date of the new regulations is January 1, 2023.
Voluntary California Quality LED Lamp Specification CEC-400-2017-015-SF, Version 3.1 of the voluntary certification regulations for LED bulbs. On December 19, 2017, CEC officially announced the final draft of the voluntary certification for bulbs V3.1/CEC-400-2017-015-SF. The V3.1 standard specification clarifies that manufacturers can estimate the lifespan before completing the lifespan test to complete the initial submission for listing. This standard is set by the California Energy Efficiency Commission to guide more high-quality LED bulbs into the California market.
