When using frequency converters, leakage protectors should never be used. This is a major principle in the use of frequency converters.

Some customers choose the corresponding leakage protector for the frequency converter when using it. The final result is that when the frequency converter works together, the leakage protector will act, and the system will not be able to operate at all.

The principle of a leakage protector is that the zero sequence current is zero. When using a frequency converter, the zero sequence current cannot be zero.

The output side of the frequency converter is a PWM wave, and there is a capacitance effect of a long cable between the motor cable and the ground. When using a cable with a shielding layer, the capacitance effect is more obvious. During the operation of the frequency converter, the capacitor is being charged and discharged, and current flows into the ground through the capacitor, which then flows back to the frequency converter from the grounding wire on the incoming side, forming a current circuit. If a leakage protector is used on the incoming side, it will act and cut off the system operation.

SO, don't equip your frequency converter with a leakage protector. If you want to ensure safety, just do a good job of grounding the equipment.
