(5) All modifications to the DCS system, whether it is configuration software, system software, or file attributes, should be recorded in detail in the engineer station (logbook). After each configuration change, it is necessary to copy the main station to the secondary station.

(6) All operator stations should be restarted regularly to eliminate accumulated errors caused by long-term computer operation. Develop the habit of regularly backing up configuration software. After each update of the point directory, all files under the engineer station configuration installation directory should be copied to the corresponding directories of each operator station. Otherwise, damage to the engineer station may cause the system to be unable to update the point directory.

(7) The DCS control room should ensure appropriate temperature, humidity, and dust levels. Regular inspections of the working environment and ventilation conditions should be carried out to avoid hardware failures or accelerated hardware aging caused by poor ventilation and heat dissipation. Generally, soot blowing should be performed on the operator station and DPU station once a quarter.

Fifth, attention should be paid to preventive maintenance, that is, proactive maintenance should be carried out in a planned manner to ensure the stability of the system. Perform preventive maintenance on the system using each major overhaul to understand its operational status and eliminate potential faults. During the major overhaul, the DCS system should be thoroughly maintained, including:

(1) System power supply and grounding system maintenance and inspection. Regularly check the capacity and charging and discharging time of UPS batteries, and conduct grounding resistance tests on the grounding electrode.

(2) Regularly conduct redundancy testing on redundant power supplies, servers, controllers, communication networks, etc., as long as the process allows.

(3) Perform spot checks on system cards. Thoroughly inspect and organize to extend the lifespan of the equipment.

(4) Power outage maintenance for operation and control stations. Including dust cleaning of components such as computer interiors, control station cabinets, and power boxes.
