Advantages
Disc brakes have many advantages over drum brakes:
(1) The working surface of disc brake is flat and heat transferring from both sides, and it is easy to cool the rotating disc, so it is not easy to be deformed;
(2) There is no potential assistance, and the brake efficiency is less affected by the friction coefficient, so the braking performance is more stable;
(3) The thermal expansion of the brake disc along the thickness direction is small, even if the brake disc expands due to high temperature after a long time of use, the braking effect will be enhanced;
(4) Small size and mass;
(5) It is easy to realise automatic adjustment of the gap and simple maintenance;
(6) After immersion in water, the efficiency is reduced to a small extent, only one or two braking can be restored to normal.
