Cylindrical lens is a lens with different radii on the X and Y axes, so the lens is cylindrical or semi-cylindrical in shape and has image magnification in only one optical axis. Cylindrical lenses are often used as laser line generators to adjust the image height or to correct for image scatter in imaging systems.

Plano-Concave Cylindrical Lens is similar to a plano-concave spherical lens, but the plano-concave cylindrical lens works on only one axis. These cylindrical lenses are used in applications where a point light source needs to be shaped in one dimension.
