S275JR steel is a readily weldable low carbon manganese steel with good impact resistance. S275JR carbon steel plate is commonly supplied in the untreated or normalized condition. Machinability of S275JR carbon steel plate is similar to that of mild steel.

The meaning of S275JR carbon steel plate:
“S” is short for structural steel;
“275” refers to the minimum yield strength (MPa) for the steel thickness ≤ 16mm;
“JR” indicates the quality grade related to charpy impact test energy values (27J, tested at room temperature 20℃);
1.0044 is the steel number of S275JR.
