Main technical indicators of black body: emissivity of black body, diameter of black body cavity, temperature uniformity and uncertainty of radiation temperature. Therefore, in order to ensure the product quality of black body, black body is usually designed according to temperature segmentation. Usually what we call black body is artificial black body. The emissivity of artificial black body is close to 1, but not equal to 1.

For the calibration and verification of radiation thermometer, the comparison method is usually used, that is, through a high-stability radiation source (usually a black body radiation source) and other supporting equipment, the temperature reproduced by the standard instrument is compared with the temperature reproduced by the radiation thermometer to be tested to determine whether it is qualified or give a calibration result.
