Pressure regulator valve is  uses in a long diversion tunnel of a hydropower station ,as one kind of safety equipment, in general, the pressure water pipe ΣLV / H greater than 15 to 30, to set the surge shaft, due to the large amount of civil works, surge shaft, a longer duration, using cancel surge tank regulator, you can save investment, shorten the construction period.

Through the governor's PLC system operation,when the load rejection occurs- speed would rise up, frequency signal feedback to the governor ,and to control and close the guide vanes quickly, then open the PRV quickly at the same time, and drain the over-pressure water flow . The PRV opened and the Guide vanes closed synchronously. After the speed recover to normal, the PRV would close slowly, then the diversion pipeline and the speed would rise, and can be controlled within the allowable range.
