Cordierite Mullite Grooved Batts

Cordierite-Mullite kiln furniture is composed of cordierite, mullite and glass phase. Due to the high temperature resistance of mullite and the low expansion of cordierite, Cordierite-Mullite kiln furniture formed good property of excellent thermal shock resistance. Cordierite-Mullite kiln furniture can be used at 1350℃, which makes it can fulfill the production demands of most ceramic industry.

L-Category

They are widely used materials with good balance of physical properties, which are the first choice for many of our customers. They have strong resistance to deformation and low thermal expansion coefficient and good thermal shock resistance. They are mainly used in primary kiln furniture at1250℃.They can be formed into a full-range of shapes and dimensions by pressing, extrusion and casting. There are five types: LAB,LAK,LEN,LED,LUA.

F-Category

They have high cold crushing strength and stronger resistance to deformation, with medium thermal expansion and working temperature up to 1280℃. Able to be formed by pressing and extrusion as primary or secondary kiln furniture. They are very popular materials, but not usually recommended for very large batts longer than 1000mm. There are four types in this category: FAC,FOF,FON,FOS.

R-Category

With extremely low thermal expansion coefficient, excellent thermal shock resistance and medium resistance to deformation, this group of materials is ideal for fast-firing processes and also suitable for thicker batts. Its orking temperature is lower than L-Category and F-Category, and is not recommended to be used above 1200℃ for long period. There are three types in R-Category: ROX,ROY,ROZ, which are available for pressed product.

I-Category

This category is used to make slip-cast products. It has low thermal expansion coefficient(with good thermal shock resistance) and stronger resistance to deformation. Its working temperature is up to 1220℃, which is lower than I-Category and F-Category, but higher than R- Category materials. IUB,IUD,IUK are three types of this category. 

C-Category

This type of material has very good resistance to deformation at higher temperature, with a recommended working temperature up to 1300℃. It is designed for using as primary kiln furniture to support heavier loads, eg. extruded batts for sanitaryware and pressed batts for porcelain, but it is not ideal for last-firing processes. COA  and COB are the main materials in C-Category.
