The unburnt magnesia-chrome brick, which takes top-grade magnesia and chromium minerals as raw materials and polyphosphates as binding agent, is treated by passing high pressure forming and low temperature heat treatment. Compared with burnt product, this brick is provided with simplified working procedures, low cost, high cold crushing strength, low degree of porosity and fine thermal expansion. However, polyphosphates acid chemically bond agent will complete decompose at about 1000°C, when the middle and high temperature structure strength of the unburnt magnesia-chrome brick is low. It’s of good use in the burning zone of frequency shutting down wet-process rotary kiln.
