Robot vacuums are convenient tools for household cleaning. With the rise of smart homes, more and more brands of robot vacuums are appearing on the market. Since robot vacuums use the radio spectrum, they must comply with FCC certification standards to be legally sold and used in the United States. Below is a detailed guide to the FCC certification process for robot vacuums.
The FCC stands for Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Established in 1934 by the Communications Act, it is an independent agency of the U.S. government directly responsible to Congress. The FCC coordinates domestic and international communications by regulating radio broadcasting, television, telecommunications, satellite, and cable. The FCC's Engineering and Technology Division provides technical support to the Commission to ensure the safety of radio and wireline communications products that affect life and property. Many radio application products, communications products, and digital products require FCC approval to enter the U.S. market.
FCC Certification Process for Robot Vacuum Cleaners:
Step 1: Consultation (Customer contacts Zhongjiantong Testing to determine testing items, fees, and other issues).
Step 2: Customer completes the Testing Commission Application Form (i.e., the commission contract, including the customer's commission information and test items).
Step 3: Customer pays the commission fee.
Step 4: Customer sends samples to the laboratory (please contact Zhongjiantong Testing for details on sample selection).
Step 5: Laboratory receives the samples (after receipt, confirm the samples and commission information with the customer).
Step 6: Laboratory tests and issues a true test report for customer confirmation.
Step 7: Customer receives the report, confirms it, and pays. We then issue the official report.
Required Documents for FCC Certification:
1. Prepare 2-3 samples.
2. Certification Application Form.
3. Product Manual.
4. Parts List.
5. Circuit Schematic.
FCC Certification Fee:
FCC certification fees vary depending on the product. Fees vary depending on the type of communication function. Testing and certification fees for wireless products, such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 3G, and 4G, also vary. It's not a fixed fee; it depends on the product.
