Vibro-Meter VM600 XMV16 models 600-003 and 620-001-001-116, as key signal processing modules in the VM600 series monitoring system, serve as the "precision sensing hub" for vibration and dynamic parameter monitoring of industrial equipment. Building on the high-sensitivity signal acquisition capability of the XMV series modules, both models have been specially optimized for the vibration characteristics of different industrial equipment. With multi-channel synchronous acquisition, high-precision signal conditioning, and in-depth synergy with the system, they provide millimeter-level vibration analysis data for condition monitoring of large rotating machinery such as steam turbines, compressors, and fans, and are core components for ensuring stable equipment operation and preventing catastrophic failures.

I. Core Functions

(1) Multi-channel Synchronous Signal Acquisition
High-density channel configuration: Both modules are equipped with 16 independent vibration signal acquisition channels. Each channel supports input from various types of sensors, including ICP sensors (with built-in charge amplifiers), piezoelectric acceleration sensors, and velocity sensors. The sampling rate can reach 12.8kHz, and all channels achieve ±1μs-level synchronous acquisition. In the monitoring of turbo-generator sets, 16 channels of signals can be collected simultaneously, such as the X/Y direction vibration of the front and rear bearings of the steam turbine, the vibration of the generator bearings, and the rotor shaft vibration, ensuring the accuracy of vibration phase difference analysis.

Wide dynamic range capture: Adopting a 24-bit high-precision ADC (Analog-to-Digital Converter) with a dynamic range of 100dB, it can simultaneously capture micro-vibrations (as low as 0.01mm/s) during normal equipment operation and strong vibrations (up to 100mm/s) during fault impacts. During the start-up process of centrifugal compressors, it can fully record the full-range vibration changes from low-speed warm-up to high-speed operation, providing complete data for the analysis of dynamic processes such as surge and stall.

Diversified parameter extraction: It can real-time calculate more than 20 characteristic parameters of each signal, such as peak-to-peak value, effective value, peak value, kurtosis, and waveform factor, and supports custom parameter configuration. For example, in fan monitoring, the 1x frequency vibration amplitude (reflecting rotor imbalance) and 2x frequency amplitude (reflecting shaft misalignment) can be focus extracted as core indicators for fault diagnosis.

(2) Professional Vibration Signal Conditioning
Adaptive filtering and anti-aliasing: Built-in 8th-order Butterworth filter, which can automatically adjust the filtering cutoff frequency (ranging from 0.1Hz to 10kHz) according to the equipment speed, effectively filtering out interference signals such as power grid harmonics and mechanical noise. It also has a hardware anti-aliasing filtering function, which preprocesses the signal before sampling to avoid analysis errors caused by high-frequency signals aliasing into the low-frequency band. In the monitoring of rolling mills in steel plants, it can filter out high-frequency interference generated by rolling impacts and accurately extract the vibration characteristics of roll bearings.

Integrated sensor power supply: Each channel provides an independent 24V DC/4mA sensor power supply and supports a disconnection detection function. When the vibration sensor cable is broken or has poor contact, the module will immediately send a fault signal and upload it to the CPUM, avoiding monitoring blind spots caused by sensor failure. In the chemical pump monitoring system, it can promptly detect cable wear faults of sensors, ensuring the continuity of data collection.

Synchronous acquisition of temperature signals: Additionally integrated with 4 channels of PT100 platinum resistance temperature acquisition channels, supporting a temperature measurement range of -200℃ to +850℃, and achieving timestamp synchronization with vibration signals. In motor monitoring, it can correlate and analyze the variation trends of motor bearing vibration and housing temperature to determine whether the bearing is at risk of overheating and wear.

(3) System Collaboration and Data Interaction
High-speed bus communication: Realizes real-time data interaction with the CPUM module through the VM600 system's dedicated high-speed backplane bus (with a rate of 500Mbps). It can upload 16 channels of vibration waveform data and more than 200 characteristic parameters per second, meeting the needs of real-time monitoring and historical traceback. In the monitoring of nuclear power plant steam turbines, it ensures that abnormal vibration signals can be transmitted to the CPUM for analysis and decision-making within 10ms.

Local alarm output: Equipped with 8 channels of relay alarm output, which can independently trigger alarms according to preset vibration thresholds (such as the ISO 10816 mechanical vibration standard), supporting "early warning - alarm - danger" three-level threshold configuration. In the monitoring of water pump units, when the effective vibration value exceeds the alarm threshold, it can directly drive the on-site sound and light alarm without waiting for CPUM processing, shortening the alarm response time.

Remote parameter configuration: Supports remote configuration of parameters such as sampling rate, filtering frequency, and alarm threshold through VM600 system software or Web interface. The configuration information takes effect in real-time and is automatically saved. In wind farm operation and maintenance, engineers can adjust the sampling parameters of the fan XMV16 module through remote terminals to adapt to monitoring needs under different wind speeds.

Wide temperature range and vibration resistance: Using industrial-grade components, the operating temperature range is -25℃ to +70℃. It passes the IEC 60068-2-6 vibration test (10~2000Hz, 10g acceleration) and can work stably in strong vibration environments such as mine crushers and vibrating screens, ensuring that data collection is not affected by the equipment's own vibration.

Electromagnetic compatibility optimization: Complies with the EN 61000-6-2 electromagnetic compatibility standard for industrial environments. Through multiple shielding (metal casing + internal shielding cavity) and grounding design, the anti-electromagnetic interference capability reaches 100V/m (80MHz~2GHz). In workshop environments with dense frequency converters, it can avoid signal distortion caused by electromagnetic radiation.

Dust and moisture protection design: With an IP20 protection rating, the front panel uses sealed connectors, which can effectively block dust and condensation in industrial sites from entering, adapting to long-term operation in dusty and humid environments such as cement plants and paper mills.

Status visualization: The front panel is equipped with 16 channel status indicators (green for normal / red for fault), power indicators, and communication indicators. Maintenance personnel can intuitively judge the module's operating status through the indicators. For example, when an indicator of a certain channel is constantly red, the sensor or cable fault of that channel can be quickly located.

Self-diagnosis function: Built-in hardware self-diagnosis circuit, which can monitor the status of key links such as power supply voltage, ADC conversion, and bus communication. The diagnosis results are uploaded to the system in real-time, facilitating early detection of potential module faults (such as unstable power supply caused by capacitor aging).

III. Application Fields

(1) Power and Energy Industry
Steam turbine generator sets: In 300MW and above steam turbine units, the 620-001-001-116 model XMV16 can collect signals such as high and medium pressure cylinder bearing vibration, rotor axial displacement, and differential expansion. (3) Metallurgy and Heavy Machinery
Rolling mill equipment: In the monitoring of hot-rolled strip mills, XMV16 can collect the vibration of the work roll bearing housing and the Archway，filter out low-frequency interference generated by rolling force, extract high-frequency characteristics of bearing faults (5~10kHz), timely detect spalling defects of roll bearings, and avoid production accidents caused by roll jamming.

Large fans: In the monitoring of induced draft fans in sintering plants, the module synchronously collects the fan bearing vibration and motor stator temperature.
