How to apply for IP65 dustproof and waterproof certification? What do IPXX protection levels from low to high represent?
The format of IP level is IPXX, where XX is two Arabic numerals, the first digit represents dustproof; the second digit represents waterproof. The larger the digit, the better the protection level.
For example, IP65 means that the product's dustproof level reaches level 6 and its waterproof level reaches level 5.
What do IPXX protection levels from low to high represent?
Dustproof level (indicated by an X)
0: No protection
1: Prevent large solids from entering
2: Prevent medium-sized solids from entering
3: Prevent small solids from entering
4: Prevent solids larger than 1mm from entering
5: Prevent harmful dust accumulation
6: Completely prevent dust from entering Waterproof level
(indicated by the second X)
0: No protection
1: No effect when water drops into the shell
2: No effect when water or rain drops on the shell from a 15-degree angle
3: No effect when water or rain drops on the shell from a 60-degree angle
4: No effect when water is poured at any angle
5: No effect when low-pressure spray is sprayed at any angle
6: No effect when high-pressure spray is sprayed
7: Can withstand immersion in water for a short period of time (15cm-1m, less than half an hour)
8: Long-term immersion in water under a certain pressure In summary, the IP protection level is more specifically IP68. To achieve this protection level, the airtightness requirements for the product shell are very strict.
IP65 protection level test content detection:
According to BG4208-2008/IEC60529:2001 enclosure protection level IP (code) standard.
IP65 protection level test includes: IP6X dustproof test and IPX5 waterproof test.
IP6X dustproof test: This test places the test sample in the test box, talcum powder dosage: 2Kg/m3; test time: 8H. Open the cover to check if there is no dust entering the shell and it is judged to pass the test;
IPX5 waterproof test: This test fixes the sample on the test bench, nozzle inner diameter: 12.5mm; water flow rate: (12±0.5) L/min; water spraying time per cubic meter of shell surface: about 1min; test time: at least 3min; distance from nozzle to shell surface 2.5m-3m. After the test, open the cover to check if there is no water droplet entering the shell and it is judged to pass the test.
The IP65 waterproof rating application process is as follows:
1. Fill out the application form
2. Send samples
3. Sample testing
4. The IP65 dust and waterproof rating test is passed, the report is completed, a draft is produced, and the information is confirmed to be correct;
5. Issue an IP65 dust and waterproof rating test report.
