Schneider MMS020 59707 Memory Card Module

Main Hardware Composition:
Controller: It is the core of the memory card module, consisting of a microprocessor, flash memory controller, data storage buffer, etc. It is responsible for controlling the read and write operations of the memory chip, transmitting data to the connected host device, and also managing data blocks in the flash memory and performing functions such as error correction.

Storage Chip: It usually adopts flash memory technology, which may be NAND Flash or NOR Flash, etc. The storage chip is used for long-term data storage. It realizes large-capacity data storage by repeatedly erasing and writing information on tiny capacitors, and can store data such as protection settings, operating parameters, and fault records of the power distribution system.

Circuit Board: It provides electrical connections between the controller and the storage chip. Composed of a multi-layer circuit board, including power supply lines, signal lines, ground lines, etc., it ensures normal communication and power supply between various components.

Shell: It is mainly used to protect the memory chip and circuit board, preventing mechanical damage, electrostatic interference, etc., and ensuring the stable operation of the module.

When the connected device needs to read data, it will send a read request to the storage chip through the controller. After the storage chip reads the data, it transmits the data to the controller, which then transmits it to the requesting device. When writing data, the device first transmits the data to the controller. The controller will first erase the data at the corresponding position in the storage chip, and then perform the writing operation. In addition, the module may also support specific communication protocols to facilitate data interaction and communication with other devices or systems in the Sepam series.

Working Principle
The working principle of the MMS020 59707 memory card module is similar to that of an ordinary memory card, mainly based on flash memory technology, and the read and write operations of data are managed through the controller, as follows:

Power Supply: When the module is connected to related equipment, the equipment will provide power to the module through the connection interface. The power supply supplies power to components such as the controller chip and flash memory, enabling the module to work normally.

Data Storage: The storage chip inside the module usually adopts flash memory technology, which is composed of many storage units. Each storage unit can store a binary bit (0 or 1). These storage units are read and written in a specific combination. They record data by repeatedly erasing and writing charges on tiny capacitors, realizing large-capacity data storage, and can save data such as protection settings, operating parameters, and fault records of the power distribution system.

Data Reading: When the connected device (such as a Sepam series protection relay) needs to read data, it will send a read command to the module. After receiving the command, the controller of the module controls the storage chip to read the corresponding data from the flash memory. The data is first transmitted to the data storage buffer of the controller, and then the controller transmits the data to the requesting device.

Data Writing: When the device writes data to the module, it first transmits the data to the controller of the module. The controller will first erase the data at the corresponding position in the storage chip (the flash chip needs to erase the original data before writing new data), and then write the new data to the specified position of the storage chip.

Error Correction: The controller chip has an error correction function. During data reading and writing, it will detect the data stored in the flash chip. If an error is found, it will try to correct it to ensure the integrity and reliability of the data.

Communication Interaction: The module communicates with external devices through a specific communication interface (such as a TCP/IP interface) and follows the corresponding communication protocol. It can receive commands from devices, such as reading data, writing data, modifying storage parameters, etc., and can also transmit stored data and status information to external devices in the format specified by the protocol to realize functions such as data interaction and remote management.

Transformer Protection: It can store data related to transformer protection, provide data support and records for transformer protection functions such as overcurrent, overvoltage, and overheating, and is applicable to transformer protection models such as T81, T82, and T87.

Motor Protection: During the operation of the motor, it can record parameters such as current and voltage of the motor and related information during faults. Cooperating with motor protection models such as M81, M87, and M88, it realizes overload, short-circuit and other protection functions and operating status monitoring of the motor.

Generator Protection: It is used to store the operating data and protection settings of the generator, help monitor the operating status of the generator, and timely detect abnormalities and trigger protection actions, corresponding to generator protection models such as G82, G87, and G88.

Busbar Protection: It can be applied to busbar protection scenarios, record data such as voltage and current of the busbar. When a busbar fault occurs, it provides data basis for the protection relay to realize rapid fault removal, such as the related scenarios of busbar protection models such as B80 and B83.

Capacitor Protection: It can store relevant parameters and protection information of capacitor operation. Cooperating with capacitor protection models such as C86, it provides overvoltage, undervoltage, overcurrent and other protections for capacitors, ensuring the safe and stable operation of capacitors.
