Straval 3 "PRH09I-30Ti is a direct acting diaphragm pressure reducing valve (commonly known as a pressure regulator) with an adjustable spring that operates on a flexible elastic diaphragm. The outlet pressure of the valve is reduced and controlled through an internal sensing port. This makes the valve a * * * pressure sensing valve or a pressure control valve used to control outlet pressure with a wide range of inlet pressures.

Unlike unbalanced diaphragm pressure reducing valves, this pressure valve adopts a balanced inlet design, which works well in applications where the inlet pressure fluctuates greatly and has little impact on the outlet pressure. The valve will operate in the vertical, horizontal, or any other direction as shown in the diagram.

This valve can be used for non corrosive or mildly corrosive fluids, including steam, depending on the selected material. Please refer to the material display instructions in the pricing section to assist in selecting materials. Only use clean, filtered, or filtered fluids to maintain efficient operation of the pressure regulating valve without clogging. Use our Stra Val online filter adapter model STF-05 or basket filter SBS-10 or SBV-05 to maintain fluid cleanliness. Use at least a range of # 20- # 40 mesh to prevent solids from entering the valve.

Used as a water pressure reducing valve, water pressure regulator, steam pressure regulator, air pressure regulator, and oil pressure regulator. Most of them are sold in places where corrosion-resistant valves are used. We mainly manufacture stainless steel valves as liquid receiving components, using 303 type stainless steel or 316 type stainless steel for chemicals, or when sanitary valves with sanitary flanges are needed. For seawater applications, use Monel valves, titanium valves, or Hastelloy valves. Although the inlet pressure can reach 220 psi (15 bar), we do not recommend doing so unless the spring range is selected and the relief valve on the outlet side of the valve is set to no more than 100 PSI (6.9 barg). This overflow valve will ensure that downstream pressure never reaches full inlet pressure, in case the pressure regulating valve fails to close properly for any reason. In fact, we always recommend installing an overflow valve on the outlet side of the valve, which should be set slightly higher than the pressure that the regulator will adjust to, in order to protect downstream equipment of the regulator in the event of seat wear, corrosion, or excessive pressure accumulation caused by external sources outside the valve.

The standard structure of this pressure reducing valve is a metal seat, but a soft seat option can be ordered to improve seat leakage, especially for air or gas. Therefore, even if the valve is equipped with a soft seat option, do not attempt to use it as a globe valve. For long-term or even short-term closures, please install separate shut-off valves or isolation valves to prevent safety valve tripping.

This online pressure reducing valve has a fairly sufficient Cv value in most applications. See below. For higher flow rates and larger Cv values, the customized pressure valve model PRS-09 has a parallel and slightly offset port arrangement, requiring additional elbows to restore the straight through pipeline.

Body and accessories: The standard material is 303 or 316 stainless steel. We also offer special alloys such as Hastelloy, Monel, Titanium, and Alloy 20.

Elastic piston seal: Fluororubber is standard configuration. ***The substitutes are Buna, EPDM, and Kalrez.

Spring chamber and regulating spring: These components are non wetted and do not come into contact with fluids or gases. They are typically made of carbon steel and painted to provide minimal external corrosion protection. When these components are submerged or located in corrosive environments, they can be upgraded to stainless steel or other corrosion-resistant materials at an additional cost.
