Working principle
Signal reception and processing: The module is connected to the control system through a communication interface and receives digital signal instructions from the controller. These instructions are usually represented in binary code form, such as "0" and "1", representing different output states respectively. The circuits inside the module will decode and amplify these signals, etc., so as to be able to drive the subsequent output circuits.
Output drive: The module has 16 optical isolation channels. Each channel can control the on and off of the 24V DC power supply to the external load through the high-end power MOSFET switch. When the received signal is "1", the MOSFET switch conducts, allowing current to pass through, thereby supplying power to the external load and enabling it to operate, such as powering the relay coil or lighting up the indicator light, etc. When the signal is "0", the MOSFET switch is disconnected, cutting off the power supply to the load and the load stops working. Each channel can provide a maximum output current of 500mA, which can meet the driving requirements of various loads.
Redundant working mechanism: This module supports redundant mode and can run in parallel with another module. The two modules will simultaneously receive the same control signals and monitor each other's working status in real time. Under normal circumstances, both modules are in the ready output state, with one being the primary module and the other the backup module. When the primary module malfunctions, such as a short circuit or component damage, the backup module will immediately take over the output task automatically and continue to provide the correct signal output to the external load, ensuring that the control function of the system is not interrupted. This process does not require user intervention, thereby enhancing the reliability and stability of the system.
Fault Diagnosis and Protection: The module is equipped with an internal diagnostic function that can monitor its own working status in real time, including detecting whether there are short circuits, open circuits or other faults in the output channel, as well as monitoring whether the power supply voltage and current are normal, etc. When a fault is detected, the module will send a fault alarm signal to the control system through the communication interface, so that the operator can promptly investigate and handle it. Meanwhile, each channel is equipped with overload protection function, which can prevent the module from being damaged due to excessive load or short circuit and other situations.
Power supply: The module can be powered by the Ovation auxiliary power supply or by an external 24V DC power supply. The power supply section will perform filtering, voltage stabilization and other processes on the input power supply, providing a stable working voltage for the circuits inside the module to ensure its stable operation.
