Functional characteristics
Triple Redundancy Architecture: Utilizing Triconex's signature Triple Module Redundancy (TMR) technology, it features three independent and parallel processing channels. Each channel independently samples, converts and processes the input signal. The accuracy and reliability of the data are ensured through a three-out two-vote mechanism. Even if a single channel fails, it will not affect the normal operation of the system.
High-precision signal acquisition: It can accurately collect various types of analog signals, including 4-20mA current signals, 0-10V voltage signals, etc., which can meet the signal access requirements of different industrial field sensors and transmitters. The resolution is usually high and can accurately reflect the subtle changes of the signal.
Wide-range input compatibility: Supports a wide range of input signals, adapting to the output of field devices of different specifications. At the same time, it has good anti-interference ability and reduces the impact of external electromagnetic interference on signal acquisition through electrical isolation and other technologies.
Powerful diagnostic function: It can monitor the working status of the module itself and the signal conditions of the input channel in real time, quickly detect faults such as channel short circuit, open circuit, and over-range, and promptly feedback fault information through indicator lights or communication interfaces, facilitating maintenance personnel to quickly locate and eliminate faults.

Number of channels: Commonly, there are 8 or 16 analog input channels (depending on the specific model).
Input type: Supports multiple analog input signal types such as 4-20mA, 0-5V, 0-10V, ±5V, ±10V, etc.
Resolution: Generally, it has a 16-bit or higher resolution to achieve high-precision signal conversion.
Accuracy: Throughout the entire input signal range, it typically achieves an accuracy of ±0.1% or higher.
Sampling rate: It can quickly sample the input signal. A typical sampling rate can meet the requirements of industrial real-time control, for example, it can sample hundreds or even more times per second.
Isolation voltage: There is usually a relatively high isolation voltage between channels and between channels and the system ground, such as 2500VDC, which enhances electrical safety and anti-interference capability.
Operating temperature range: Generally from -40 ℃ to + 75℃, suitable for harsh industrial environments.
Communication interface: Supports multiple industrial communication protocols, such as Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP, etc., facilitating data interaction with other devices and control systems.
Working principle
Signal access and conditioning: The analog signals on site (such as temperature, pressure, flow and other sensor output signals) are connected to the module through the terminal block. First, they pass through the signal conditioning circuit, where they undergo filtering, amplification, isolation and other processing to remove interference signals and adjust the signals to an appropriate level range for subsequent analog-to-digital conversion.
Analog-to-digital Conversion (ADC) : The conditioned analog signal enters a high-precision analog-to-digital converter to convert the analog quantity into the corresponding digital quantity. The three independent channels each carry out this conversion process to ensure the redundancy and reliability of the data.
Data processing and voting: The converted digital signals are processed and stored respectively in three channels. During each scanning cycle, the module compares the data from the three channels and conducts a "three-to-two" vote. At least two consistent results are selected as valid data and sent to the main processor module of the control system for subsequent control logic operations and decision-making.
Fault monitoring and feedback: The module continuously monitors its own hardware status (such as power supply, ADC operation status, etc.) and the signal status of the input channel. Once an abnormality is detected, it immediately triggers the fault diagnosis mechanism, and promptly feeds back the fault information to the operator or the upper computer system through means such as indicator light flashing and sending fault codes through the communication interface.
Application scenarios
Petrochemical industry: It is used to monitor analog parameters such as temperature, pressure and liquid level of reaction vessels to ensure the safety and stability of the production process. Accurately collect signals such as the flow rate and composition of the fluid in the pipeline to facilitate process optimization and material balance control.
Power industry: In power plants, analog signals such as voltage, current and power of generators are collected for the operation monitoring and protection of the units. Real-time monitoring of parameters such as transformer oil temperature and oil pressure within the substation is carried out to ensure the reliable operation of power equipment.
Metallurgical industry: Monitor the analog quantities such as furnace temperature, furnace pressure and air volume of blast furnaces to provide accurate data for the automatic control of the ironmaking production process; Collect and process signals such as the temperature and composition content of molten steel during the steelmaking process to improve the quality of steel and production efficiency.
