The metallurgical casting crane works by the longitudinal movement along the direction of the plant track, the transverse movement of the trolley and the lifting movement of the hook. It is a special crane for lifting molten metal, which is suitable for metal smelting workshop and conforms to JB/T7688.1-95 and JB/T7688.15-95 standards. The application of metallurgical casting crane is generally applicable to the ambient temperature of - 10 oC to+50 oC, the relative humidity is not more than 50 oC at the temperature of 40 oC, and the radiation temperature of the molten metal lifted to the forging hook and plate hook is not more than 300 oC.
The steel wire rope used by foundry crane for lifting molten or hot metal is an important high-temperature resistant steel wire rope such as asbestos rope core or metal strand core.
Cast iron pulleys cannot be used for metallurgical/foundry cranes lifting molten metal.
For the crane lifting molten metal, the lifting mechanism should have the forward and reverse contactor fault protection function to prevent the motor from losing power while the brake is still energized, which will cause the motor to stall and cause heavy objects to fall.
Metallurgical/foundry cranes for lifting molten metal shall be equipped with different types of double limiters in the ascending limit position (generally the paddle type limiters and the hammer type limiters controlled by the rope guide), and can control different circuit breakers. When the lifting height is greater than 20m, the descending limit position limiters shall also be equipped.
