The pull-out rod of the tension insulator and the fittings are often fixedly connected by an inner wedge-type cone surface. The outer body of the pull-out rod has umbrellas with different diameters to form an umbrella group. The umbrella is usually made of electrical ceramics or silicone rubber. , The umbrella body is also integrated with the drawing rod.

The tensioned porcelain bottle insulator can be operated frequently or break short-circuit current multiple times within the working current range. The mechanical life of the insulator can be as high as 30,000 times, and the number of short-circuit current breaking times at full capacity can reach 50 times. The ambient temperature of the place where ceramic tension insulators are installed and used is usually between -40°C and +40°C, and the altitude should not exceed 1000m.
