Calcium Chloride Granule Production Plant

    Calcium chloride is generally divided into calcium chloride solution, calcium chloride hexahydrate, calcium chloride tetrahydrate, flake calcium chloride dihydrate, powdery/honeycomb anhydrous calcium chloride according to its existence form. Calcium chloride dihydrate is a white granular crystal with strong deliquescence, easily soluble in water and soluble in alcohol; Anhydrous calcium chloride can be obtained by heating calcium chloride solution to 260℃; In industrial products, the solid content of calcium chloride dihydrate is generally 74%, 77% and 80%. Anhydrous calcium chloride is a colorless cubic crystal, and industrial products are white or gray white solids, which are easily hygroscopic in the air. The content of anhydrous calcium chloride varies with the composition, but generally the content of more than 93% can be called anhydrous calcium chloride.

    In industrial production, the drying of calcium chloride dihydrate and calcium chloride anhydrous is difficult because of the following difficulties.

(1) Calcium chloride undergoes a melt process during drying

    In general, calcium chloride has different solubility at different temperatures, and flake calcium chloride is generally obtained through the cooling process. Therefore, in the process of drying and heating, it must go through the process of temperature from low to high, so it must go through the dissolution point temperature, so as to dissolve in its own water. The particles are bonded to each other, which is easy to form lumps, and problems are easy to occur in the drying process.

(2) High dehydration temperature

    The saturated solution of calcium chloride dihydrate under standard pressure has a melting point of about 170°C. Calcium chloride dihydrate in flake form is generally obtained by cooling in a flaking machine, while calcium chloride dihydrate is heated to 260°C before it becomes anhydrous calcium chloride, thus the inlet air temperature is generally higher than 260°C during the drying process and a certain drying time is required.

(3) Particularity of calculation

    Unlike the calculation of normal surface water dehydration, the amount of water of crystallization and the heat of generation for the removal of water of crystallization need to be taken into account when calculating the dehydration of calcium chloride drying and the heat required.

    Calcium chloride granule production plant produces calcium chloride anhydrous/dihydrate granules from calcium chloride solution, through concentration, granulation and drying.

    The plant consists of following section:

    1). A multiple-effect forced circulation evaporator, concentrating calcium chloride solution up to around 40%- 50% according to site condition；

    2). A Fluidized-bed spray granulation/powdering dryer, transforming concentrated calcium chloride solution into 78% calcium chloride dihydrate granules or 94% calcium chloride anhydrous granules alternatively. 

    3). An automatic weighing and packing machine, 25kg/bag.

    1). The whole process from calcium chloride solution concentration by a  multi-effect evaporator to granulation and drying by a fluidized bed spray granulation dryer, can be fully automatic .

    2). No need of manual operation of feeding of the fluidized bed granulator, reducing the operating intensity and providing a good operating environment.

    3). Muti-stage washing and demister are adopted at each venting point,  to ensure the dust removal effect while recovering materials, and ensure the exhaust gas meets the environmental protection requirements.

    4). Simple equipment structure , fewer operating points, no maintenance required for the main body, and regular conveying machine adopted for other related auxiliary machines, less maintenance.

    5). With this process, one machine can produce various products, 77% calcium chloride dihydrate granules and 94% calcium chloride anhydrous can be produced alternatively according to the need.

    6). Smaller occupied area and less investment.
