The domestic dehumidifier has 2 ways of dehumidification; one is chemical and the other is active silica gel. The Chemical dehumidification follows the principle of Lithium chloride absorption to dry the wet air to achieve dehumidification. Then by heating the lithium chloride, evaporated water is discharged to the outside. And the cycle ofcontinuousdehumidification is repeated. Lithium chloride moisture fast, easy to dry air, and with low energy consumption. However, lithium chloride is toxic and hazardous chemicals, (lithium chloride is white crystal with deliquescence, salty taste. It is dissolved in water, ethanol, acetone, pyridine and other organic solvents. Although belongs to low toxic class, it has a strong stimulation and corrosion to the eyes and mucous membrane). Some of the molecules will escape during dehumidification process. The chemical dehumidification is widely used in non pharmaceutical and food industries. However, under the strict supervision to the pharmaceutical and food industry, and the development of dehumidification technology, a new generation of active silica gel dehumidifier has been developed successfully. The active silica gel desiccant wheel was introduced to replace the lithium chloride chemical dehumidifier. Now the activated silica desiccant dehumidification is wildly used in food and pharmaceutical industry to improve food and drug safety.The activated silica gel rotary dehumidifier, which is a slow rotation of the active silica gel runner, and the processed air past through the 3/4 active silica gel of the rotary wheel to get dried. The other part of the processed air is heated to 100 degrees above, through the wheel of the 1/4 part of the activated silica gel to absorb moisture, so that water becomes steam and exhaust to outside though fan. The dry air is get by this continuous working.

Manufacturing standard of dehumidifier: QB/T 4109-2010

1.The whole process of the drying process can be monitored in any time. The dryness of Capsule is determined by data.

2.Each section of the cage is relatively independent, closed, and air circulation is within each section. The workshop environment has little impact on the machine, and it is in line with the requirements of GMP.

3.It needs 80-100 square meters drying room, 80-100KW for rotary wheel dehumidifier and 24~28 hours of continuous work for drying 800 thousand tablets of 500mg capsules with traditional method. Now it takes only 16 hours of continuous work, 48KW power with 8 rotary cages. The actual energy consumption is only 25% compares to the traditional way. The effect of energy saving is very obvious and also it saves the drying space and equipments, air conditioning pipes.

4.The temperature of each rotary cage could be controlled separately to short the drying time, manpower and production cost.

5.Different drying curve parameters could be set according to the different varieties of soft capsule to optimize the drying process of soft capsules.
