Product Description
Heat strengthened glass is a semi tempered glass, which has been strengthened thermally by inducing a surface compression of 6000 to 9000 psi as compared to a range of 11000 to 20000 psi in case of fully tempered glass. It is two times stronger than annealed glass. Though it is not considered to be a safety glass, it is widely used on building facades due to better optics.
Bent or curved glass is processed in which the glass sheet is gradually heated above its softening pint while external mechanical forces are extended on the sheet, bending it onto a concave or convex mould in a bending furnace. Once the shaping process is completed, the sheet is cooled in a controlled manner to either annealed glass or thermally toughened safety glass. Bent or curved glass includes curved annealed glass and tempered curved glass. Curved glass offers a creative alternative for architects and designers in handrails, windows, store front, skylight, capsule lifts, spiral staircases, revolving doors, shower doors, elevator panels, glass partitions and showcases.
