4. Using method

4.1 Sample treatment

4.1.1 Use a disposable dropper to suck 10 drops of honey in a centrifuge tube, and use another dropper to add 10 drops of pure water.

4.1.2 Screw the lid of centrifuge tube tightly, and then shake it to mix the honey and water evenly.

4.1.3 Put the centrifuge tube into boiling water and heat for 1.5 minutes. Then take it out to cool down to room temperature for detection.

4.2 Sample detection

4.2.1 Take out the test strip and put the reaction film into the treated sample solution for 10 seconds, then take it out and shake off the redundant solution.

4.2.2 Compare the color of reaction film and the color card within 2~5 minutes to determine the content of starch in honey sample.

5. Notice

5.1 Please suck the honey sample evenly without bubbles when using dropper to suck it.

5.2 Store the test strip sealed. Once the package is open, please use the test strip immediately.

5.3 If the aluminum foil bag was damaged before unsealing or the reaction film changes color, the test strip can’t be used.

5.4 Observe the color within stipulated time. Otherwise, the determined result may be wrong.

5.5 The dropper used for sucking pure water is reusable. 

6. Storage condition

Keep the test strips under seal in a dark, cool and dry place at 4~25℃.
