Peroxide value of edible oil rapid detecting kit

Edible oils are divided into animal fat and non-animal fat, and they are necessary nutrient for human beings. Influenced by the storage condition such as temperature, air and light, the fat of edible oil will be oxidized and it leads the edible oil acidized which will let edible oil change the character and lose the nutrient, and even do harm to human beings. 

Peroxide value is an important index of the quality of edible oil. If the peroxide value exceeds the standard value, it means the oil is acidized. Peroxide value of edible oil rapid detecting kit developed by our company is suitable for the rapid detection of peroxide value of edible oil on the spot. 

1. Preparing reagent

Add 6mL pure water or distilled water into the bottle of test reagent B, then screw the lid and shake them fully to dissolve them. 

Remark: Prepare another reagent only after exhausting the previous one. And the reagent should be kept in the fridge at 4 ℃.

2. Using method

Weigh 0.10g sample and put them into graduated test tube. Add test reagent A to let the solution arrive the scale 2mL, then shake them evenly to dissolve them. Suck 0.1mL from them into another graduated test tube, and add test reagent A to the scale 3mL, then mix them fully. Drip separately one drop of test reagent B and one drop of test reagent C, then shake them fully to let them react for 5mins. Then observe the color variation. 

3. Result 

Semi-quantitation can be gained according to standard colorimetric card. The darker the color, the higher peroxide value.

0.06g/100g

5. Matters need attention 

a) Test reagent A is consist of ethyl alcohol and petroleum ether and their scale is 1:1, and it is provided 100mL in this kit. If it is not enough, it should be prepared by users themselves. 

b) It is suggested to do the detection in aeration-drying condition due to the smell of the reagent. 

c) This method is only for rapid detection, and the precise quantitation should be gained by standard method. 

6. Application scope

It is suitable for the rapid detection of peroxide value of edible oil.

7. Storage condition

Keep them at room temperature in aeration-drying condition.
