1. Brief
The instrument is based on most advanced fattiness analysis technology which has lots of advantages such as stable performance, reasonable design, high accuracy, time and energy saving. The instrument is in accordance with the China national standard (GB5512-85) whose technical index and performance is equal to the international products of the same variety. It’s really an ideal instrument for the fattiness analysis in various of industries such as food, fattiness and feedstuff.
The instrument takes advantage of the soxhlet extraction principle and measure the fattiness content by weighing measuration. On the other word, dissolve the fattiness by organic solvent at first, separate the fattiness from the solvent through extraction secondly, then calculate the fattiness content after drying and weighing.
The instrument is composed of heat up extraction unit, solvent recycle unit and cooling unit. During the operation, the user could adjust the heating temperature based on the boiling point of the reagent and the room temperature, the sample is marinated and extracted repeatedly during the extraction process to achieve the fast measurement objective.
2. Preparation

c. Electric Thermostatic Drying Oven d. sample muller for lab use
e. mortar and grinding stick
f. filter paper canister (use 100mm(diameter) round qualitative filter paper to fold a canister(diameter 20mm, length 50mm), had better two layers)
2. Reagent: absolute ethyl ether anhydrous ether (analytically pure)
3. Preparation before operation
[1]. sample preparation
a. Standing grain variety of foodstuff and legume (except peanut): take 30~50gram of impurity removed clean sample, pass it through the 1.0mm round sieve after grinded, cased in the jar for use
b. Granule oil plants such as sesame, rapeseed, flax seed: take 20 gram of impurity removed clean sample, cased in the jar for use
c. Big granule oil plants such as peanut, sunflower seed, tea seed: take 30-50 gram of sample, remove the impurities and rind granule by granule, weigh the kernel and shell separately and calculate the kernel ratio in the sample total weight. Then cut or slice the kernel into pieces and cased in the jar for use
[2] .Wash the extraction canister by distilled water, then dry it for 1h under 105°C in drying oven, after that move it to drying jar, after cooling , weight, number and for spare using.
[3]. Check the power supply and the in and out tap of cooling water. Before extracting, pour distilled water into water bath, it could preheat the distilled water in the water bath, and the water level keep contacting with the bottom of extraction canister. The temperature set at around 68 °C , time set around 300minutes.

3. Operation
1. sample bind up: Weigh 2~5 gram of standby sample in the drying box, dry for 30mins under 105°C, then pour it into the mortar immediately, add into 2g of degreased fine sand and grind together. When the sample and fine soil are grinded into oily state, dip a few amount of aether by the absorbent cotton and wipe the sample and fattiness in the mortal thoroughly, put all the wiped sample and fattiness into the filter paper canister(fill a layer of absorbent cotton on the bottom the canister ahead). Then fill the upper part of the canister with absorbent cotton to press the sample and put into extractor.
2.Pouring 80ml absolute ether into extraction canister, first entangle the extractor onto the condenser pipe, then entangle the extraction canister to extractor and move onto water bath, adjust the place to make the extraction canister be in good contact, making cock vertical.
3. Turn on the power, adjust the required heat up temperature which would be shown on the screen.
4. During solvent recovery, make cock handle crosswise.
5. After finishing recover of aether , make condenser pipe up, take extraction canister out from water bath, and put it into constant temperature box, place it in the oven to remove the moister, then cool it down in the airer and weight, calculate the oil concentration.
6. Turn off the power and keep the instrument clean.
