What is the CNC Oxy Fuel Cutting?Oxy Fuel cutting is a chemical reaction between pure oxygen and steel to form iron oxide. Essentially, it is rapid, controlled rusting. A mixture of oxygen and fuel gas are used to preheat the metals surface or edge to its ignition temperature around 1800 degrees F. (bright red in color), but below the metals melting point. Then a jet of pure oxygen is directed at the heated area in a fine, high pressure stream. A vigorous exothermic chemical reaction takes place between the oxygen and metal forming an aluminum or iron oxide or rust. The pressure of the jet of oxygen blows away the slag or oxide forming a cavity. The burning head is moved at a constant speed to form a continuous cut.

What is the CNC Plasma Cutting?Although plasma cutting has been around since the early 1940's it is still an effective way to cut through carbon steel plate up to inch and a quarter thick. A plasma cutter works by sending an electrical arc through a gas field that is flowing through a restricted nozzle. The electric arc elevates the temperature of the gas to the point that it enters a plasma state. The plasma exits the nozzle at high speed. The electrical conductivity of the plasma arcs to the metal being cut completing the circuit. The high pressure plasma cuts through the molten metal.

Auto height controller for Gas cutting: This is needed if there is warpage in the sheet. The torch automatically keeps a particular gap from the sheet as set and it keeps moving automatically up or down to maintain the distance.

Auto height controller for Plasma cutting : Since plasma cutting is achieved at high speeds, the thermal movement in the plates can obstruct the torch and hence an automatic height controller helps to avoid collisions of the torch with the plates. Also, for achieving consistently good quality in Plasma cutting auto height controller is utmost necessary. This height controller works by comparing the arc voltage to a pre-set value.
