Introduction of Vertical Ring Die Wood Pellet Mill
It conducts largescale or industrial wood pellet production and the end pellets can be used for fuel in fireplace, boiler, gasifier or biomass power plant. Equipped with a forced feeder, it can produce excellent wood pellets with high density and combustion value. Ring dies with different bore diameters can be customized according to clients’ different demands; here we would like to recommend the wood pellet mill with whole diameters of6mm, 8mm, 10mm, 12mm, etc. Solid pellets produced from which are proved incentive and smokeless. Ring die pellet mills are of vertical structure and they combine with the flat die pellet mills’ vertical feeding method. The original circle structure of ring die pellet press is specially designed for those wood materials like gum wood, palm which are hard to press. Because the proportion of the materials is light,so vertical feeding method is selected. In addition, due to the nice stability of circle structure ring die pellet mills, thus the design adopts combination of ring die and flat die. Ring die pellet mill has both advantages and disadvantages. There are three main advantages: 1.Large production, nice pellet forming shape and high density( 1-1.3%). 2. No additives are needed while pelletizing. 3. The roller and ring die are of balanced wear. The main disadvantage is the relatively high power consumption.

Advantages of Vertical Ring Die Wood Pellet Mill
1. Ring die pellet mills generate less wear and tear since both inner and outer edges of the roller traverse the same distance.
2. Ring die pellet machines are more energy efficient than flat die wood pellet milRoller slip during the pelletizing process brings extra friction, but this extra friction is a good element in the production of qualified wood pellets due to the additional heat.
3. The ring die pellet mill has wide applicable scope. It can process different materials like wood chips, sawdust, straw, pasture, palm leaf, wood waste, wheat stalk, corn stalk and many other organic waste resources.
Raw material types and features can exert great influence on biomass pellet production. For example:
- Biomass pellet made from hard wood has smaller productivity than that made from soft wood as hard wood like birch,
- elm are drier and denser than soft wood like pine, spruce and firs, thus wood pellet capacity is elastic. Raw material should not be completely fine powder, although the fiber material in powder is in favor of wood pellet
- forming, the powder should be 3-5mm,neither too small nor too big. So for super quality wood pellets production, choosing the proper material type is significant.
