It's usually no more than three days from cassava harvesting to cassava processing. During this period sugar conversion rate is low, starch quality and starch yields are higher.

Cleaning section of cassava starch processing line

Fresh cassava is sent to the storage yard. Before processing, fresh cassava must be cleaned. The first machine needed in cassava starch processing line is dry sieve, which removes skin, stone and sticks from cassava.

After dry sieve cassava is washed by washing machine, which is also called cleaning machine, to remove impurities in cassava, such as sand and land. Then the clean materials go into the collection bucket, and prepared to processing section.

First, cleaned cassava is cut into several parts by cutting machine, as the following picture.

Then cassava is further broken into cassava milk or cassava slurry by rasper or rasping machine.

Cassava slurry is fed to centrifugal sieve station by screw pump, to separate cassava fiber.

Then starch milk goes into the disc separator through the rotary filter. Disc separator mainly role is separating the pectin and cell fluid through separation and concentration, further purified starch milk. After that, the starch milk will go into the cyclone section.

The final purification (concentrate and wash) of starch is completed by cyclone station. Washing system is composited by multi-stage cyclone, adding clean wash water in the final stage, using the principle of counter-current washing, the impurities is sent to fine residue separation system, the refined starch milk (meet quality requirements) will flow to dehydration section from the bottom to the last stage.
