The H.pylori resides in gastric mucosal layer and produces the enzyme urease that breaks down urea into ammonium salts to buffer gastric acidity. The Lituo H.pylori rapid test quickly detects the presence of the urease enzyme in gastric mucosal biopsy specimens in order to diagnose an active Helicobacter pylori (H.pylori) infection. This simple one-step test enables more accurate, rapid and convenient diagnosis than histology or gastric tissue culture. It is the gold standard testing method by detecting gastric mucosal biopsy specimens.

Principle

Helicobacter Pylori (HP) is a kind of gram-negative and non-spore bacillus in spiral bending which lives in gastric mucosa and duodenum. Helicobacter Pylori (HP) is the only bacterium which can generate lots of urease in stomach, so HP infection in stomach can be diagnosed through detection of urease. The urease decomposes urea into amine and carbon dioxide, the urea concentration will be reduced, conversely the amine concentration rise also pH value goes up, and accordingly the indicator of test card changes color (from yellow to cherry). For this reason HP infection can be denoted according to color change details.

Result Interpretation

Negative: No change of color (Yellow).

Positive:  Color changed from yellow to cherry.
