This type of clamp has been designed for providing an extra protection to the conductor. The armour rods where the clamp is installed on avoid the damages produced by compression, fretting and corona discharge on the conductor/strands. The clamp has got an inner neoprene insert to minimise stresses on the point of clamping. The Armour Grip Suspension Clamp has a damping effect which improves the behaviour of the cable against the vibration caused by the wind

Suspension Set for OPGW Cable, is intended to connect OPGW on straight-line pole. With no concentrated stress and avoiding a bend stress, the helical rod clamp may play a role to protect cable and assist reducing vibration
