SSITs PCI technology has the following features:

1 Upto 200kg/t.HM PCI rate is achievable.

The figure 1 is the P&I drawing of the coal dust preparation system and figure 2 illustrates the coal dust injection system.

The following safety measures are incorporated to ensure a zero accident rate in PCI operation:

1     The coal dust preparation system has one fan and a primary bag filter. Full negative pressure process is designed. The injection system has a general pipe plus distributor and direct injection.

2     Medium speed grinding mill with low leakage and a weighing coal feeder for good sealing is considered.

3     The design, manufacture and installation of the pressure container like injection vessel, air storage tank and air distributor, etc all conform to international and local standard.

4     The bag filter is of anti-static material

5     Equipment, containers and pipes are provided with anti-static earthing. The flanges are bridge connected by conducting wire.

6     The workshop is designed as C grade fire accident danger building.

7     The workshop surroundings are provided with a firefighting vehicle passage.

8     The coal dust preparation system uses hot blast stove flue gas for drying and inertizing the medium. The oxygen content is so designed as not to be more than 12 %.

9     The lower fine coal silo is provided with a nitrogen fluidizing unit and an uninterrupted nitrogen filling unit

10  The injection vessels pressurization and fluidizing uses nitrogen.

11  Nitrogen storage tanks are placed outdoor.

12  Grinding mill, bag filter and fine coal silo are provided with emergency nitrogen filling facilities.

13  Grinding mill inlet, outlet, bag filter inlet and dust hopper, fine coal silo, injection vessel, etc are provided with temperature monitoring units.

14  Oxygen and CO density on-line monitoring unit are provided to conduct patrol monitoring on the grinding mill, bag filter, coal dust bin, etc. Automatic alarming system starts when the upper limit is reached. Automatic nitrogen filling and equipment shut down are invoked when the super upper limit is reached.

15 Electrics are designed for safety as per regulations. The electrical equipment includes switch, solenoid valve and lighting lamp, etc. which are explosion proof.
