Its major components are the stator, rotor, upper spider, lower spider, bearing, and the auxiliary equipment including cooling system, temperature measuring system and various cover plates. There is the thrust bearing that supports the axial thrust and weight of rotating element in the set, upper guide bearing and lower guide bearing in the shafting. The generator has the upper guide bearing, lower guide bearing and axial thrust, of which the upper guide bearing and axial thrust are set in the upper spider and share the same oil sink, while the lower guide bearing is put in the oil sink inside the lower spider. Using elastic metallic plastic pads with excellent design and fabrication, the thrust bearing pad boasts a swift start-up and slight friction loss. The guide bearing employs the Babbitt alloy. The thrust bearing and guide bearing have adjustable partitioning and rigid supporting structure. The upper guide bearing pad and the lower one share the same structure and interchangeable size. The assembling, disassembly, replacement and overhaul of the guide bearing will not affect the thrust bearing or generator rotor. Thanks to the design of the upper guide bearing spider, the guide bearing can be taken out without moving the collector ring. The insulation board and insulation cylinder are placed between the thrust bearing seat and frame as well as between the guide bearing and bearing support, so as to prevent the shaft current and guarantee a reliable earth insulation. The collector ring and brush rigging are in the upside of the upper spider, protected by individual cover from dust into the stator and rotor. The placement of brush rigging and the design of the cover are helpful to the operational monitoring, maintenance and replacement. The slip ring and collector ring are made from highly abrasion resistance materials. The brush holder of brush rigging features constant voltage and the lead wire is braided copper wires coated with silver plating, which make repolishment of slip ring quite convenient on the site. A closed system is formed by the upper cover plate above the wind tunnel of the generator and the lower cover plate below the lower spider base. The upper cover plate can be torn down into parts, convenient to lift up the air cooler. Entrance door with handle is set in the upper cover plate and that with hinge is set in the lower cover plate.
