Description of calcined bauxite                                  

Refractory grade bauxite has high refractoriness, good mechanical strength and moderate slag resistance.  Bauxite in the refractory industry is typically used in ladle working lining, tundish furniture, Delta sections, general purpose repair, aluminium melting furnace and mineral processing.

Bauxite can be used in pedestrian pathways and road surfacing and can be hot or cold poured onto the road preparation surface and will contribute to making a long lasting anti-skid surface in high volume areas.  The three coloured bauxite products are available in two different gradings meaning Gongyi Minerals have 6 bauxite products available for use in anti-skid.

Standard Grades of Calcined Bauxite                              

Hi-D Bauxite

This bauxite product is an extremely consistent high density premium grade where the raw material is produced using oil fired rotary kilns.  Gongyi Minerals grade the raw material into different particle sizes; the bulk density is typically 3.3g/cm3.  Hi-D bauxite is used to manufacture fired and monolithic refractory products.

Standard-D or Rota-Mid Bauxite

This consistent high quality grade of bauxite which has a standard density is produced in oil fired rotary kilns in Shanxi Province (China).  Gongyi Minerals process the raw material into various standard or customised grades for use in the refractory industry.

RASC Bauxite

RASC (refractory Aggregate Super Calcined) is rotary calcined.  The bauxite raw material is extremely consistent which Gongyi Minerals process into different gradings for use in the refractory industry or as an aggregate in anti-skid road surfaces.

Grey / Dark Bauxite

Q-Grey Bauxite is a consistent dust free product specifically manufactured for use as an aggregate in anti-skid surfacing.  Q-Grey has a high density which in turn provides good wear resistance and abrasion in this application and is a decorative mid-grey colour.

Buff Bauxite

Buff is light coloured bauxite aggregate that is utilised in anti-skid road surfaces.  This calcined bauxite raw material is from a Chinese source which Gongyi Minerals process into specific sized grades specifically for the anti-skid industry.
