Types of Acsr Conductors

AAC Conductor

 For use in overhead transmission and distribution systems and as bus connections in substations and switchyards. Solid conductors used for mechanical and grounding 

applications.Classes AA and A are used primarily for overhead transmission 

and primary and secondary distribution,where ampacity must be maintained,a lighter conductor (compared to ACSR ) is desired and when conductor strength is not
a critical factor.Classes B and C are used primarily as bus,apparatus connectors and jumpers,where additional flexibility is required.

 AAAC Conductor

 AAAC conductor are made out from aluminum-magnesium-silicon alloy of high electrical conductivity (min 53% IACS) containing magnesium (0.6-0.9%) & silicon (0.5-0.9%) to give it better mechanical properties after treatment. AAAC conductors are made out of aluminum alloy 6201. AAAC conductor has a better corrosion resistance and better strength to weight ratio and improved electrical conductivity than ACSR conductor on equal diameter basis.

ACSR Conductor

 ACSR is a composite concentric-lay-stranded conductor. Galvanized steel strand or strands form the central core of the conductor, around which is stranded one or more layers of EC Grade Aluminium wires. The steel core may consist of a single strand or a concentric stranded cable of 7, 19, 37, or more wires. Numerous combinations of aluminum and steel strands and layers arepossible.

According to IEC61089, and GB119783 also can do by standard of ASTM, BS215, DIN48204 and  AS/NZS or other standards.
