Function and application

LYD1-L series decoupler connected in series with the rated voltage 500V and below power supply system, used to regulate the energy between two-stage surge protection device, and centrally compensate the conductor length where is length is short, adjust the cooperation between different SPD. Typical application is where both B and C class SPDs installed in distribution box. When the line from voltage switch type SPD to voltage limiting SPD is less than 10m, or line between voltage limiting SPD less than 5m, there shall install one decoupler between these two SPD.

Installation

The decoupler adopt 35mm rail for mounting, series connected in power between two-stage SPD, the conductor namely power source line.

Mail structure and work theory

LYD1-L decoupler adopted module structure connected in series between front and rear two-stage SPD, it shall select the right decoupler according to loading current as per IEC61631 standard.

The excellent induction performance of decoupler on high energy surging current can ensure the reliability of SPD, if the network has several-stage SPDs, they will have influence on each other, this means the SPD in parallel shall have energy cooperation. This result is that when surging over-voltage produced by lightning occur, SPD(B class) will response at first, carry its high energy surging current, this is to ensure other SPD(C or D class) can response accurately.
