What are air coolers?

Evaporative cooling is a physical phenomenon in which evaporative of a liquid, typically into surrounding air, cools an object or a liquid in contact with it. Latent heat, the amount of heat that is needed to evaporate the liquid is drawn from the air. When considering water evaporating into air , the wet-bulb temperatures as compared to the air’s dry-bulb temperature, is a measure of the potential for evaporative cooling. The greater the difference between the two temperatures, the greater the evaporative cooling effect. When the temperatures are the same, no evaporation of water in air occurs, thus there is no cooling effect.

     Q: How much water do I put in? 

     A : The amount of water required will vary depending on the size of the unit you own. To help determine the correct level,each evaporative cooler is equipped with a water level indicator. It can be found on bottom sump of the unit. Add water until the indicator shows that the water reservoir is filled. Water will leak from the unit if it is over-filled.

     Q: At start-up, the air has light odor?

     A:  Occasionally, an evaporative cooler may give off slight odor when first put into use. To eliminate this odor, run the unit for an hour, drain all the water from the tank and add fresh water. If odor persists repeating the above procedure until it is eliminated.

     Q: How often do I have fill the mobile unit?

     A: The length of time will vary depending on the dryness of the air and the speed at which the cooler is running. Typically, water supplied should last from one day or half a day, because we design the tank for 8 hours use or 4 hours consumption.
