Product Description
ZXSDR BS8900A(hereinafter referred as “BS8900A”) is one outdoor macro BTS, providing all in one solution for power supply, battery, and transmission integration. It offers GSM/UMTS/LTE multi-mode networking capability and provides a future-proof solution for smooth evolution to Enhanced EDGE, HSPA+ and LTE.
1.1 Benefits
l Flexible Configuration
BS8900A has 3 kinds of basic cabinets. They are site support cabinet BC8910A, outdoor radio cabinet RC8910A, and battery cabinet PC8910A. They can be combined flexibly to cater for different scenarios. Auxiliary equipments, including transmission, battery and power supply, are integrated into the cabinet to provide a full functional outdoor base station solution. The operator can choose differentcabinets for best fit of their own application scenario. It is a flexible and customized solution.
l Easy Installation
Each basic cabinet of BS8900A is only 800mm*600mm*600mm (H*W*D) in size, which is small and light. Front wiring design enables installation against wall and convenient maintenance. The operatorcan choose centralized or distributed installation according to the requirements of the machine room thanks to the modularized design.
l Flexible Multi-Band Multi-Mode Networking, Smooth Evolution
BS8900A’s Baseband Unit (BBU) supportsdiverse wireless access technologies simultaneously, including GSM, UMTS and LTE, which share the common control function and transmission totally. It satisfies operators’ requirement with the minimum hardware change just by inserting dedicated baseband processing boards.
BS8900A’s Radio System Unit (RSU) is based on software defined radio (SDR) technology. The GSM/UMTS RSU can be upgraded to support LTE at the same frequency band through software update only. Meanwhile, it supports multi-mode at the same frequency band simultaneously. ZTE’s SDR solutions fulfilloperators’
requirements of hybrid network deployment and long term evolution with the lowest cost.
l 2T4R RSU Supported, Lower CAPEX and Higher Performance
ZTE’s particular 2T4R RSU supports 2 sectors in GSM/UMTS mode or 2T4R in LTE mode. In the former case, fewer RSUs are required in the network construction, which reduces the CAPEX. In the latter case, the spectrum efficiency is optimized and the network uplink performance is improved. As a result, the better customer experience is achieved.
l Full Working Bandwidth Supported, Less Investment
To meet the growing demands for wide working bandwidth, RF modules with full working bandwidth are released. The maximum working bandwidth is 75MHz for 1800MHz band and 35MHz for 900MHz band. For the frequency spectrums become scarce, resources allocated for operators tend to be characterized with fragmentation and large span. RF modules with full working bandwidth integrate more spectrum resources and help to decrease the hardware investment exponentially.(This is the maximum bandwidth of the RF modules. Please make the actual module as the standard.)
l High PA Efficiency, Low Power Consumption
The PA achieves very high efficiency with ZTE patent Doherty, Digital PreDistortion (DPD) and Dynamic Power Trace (D-PT) technologies. The PA power supply voltage is dynamically adapted to the output power, reducing RU’s power consumption. The base station power consumption is greatly decreased, together with several other key energy-saving features.
l Adaptable to Tough Environments
Outdoor Macro BS BS8900A adopts hermetic rack. It iswater proof, dust proof andEMC compatible to suit the outdoor application scenario. BS8900A provides IP55 protection capability and C class lightning protection.
It is designed with heat exchanger technology to meet the requirements of forced cooling, as to improve the reliability of components. It uses an internal heater to make sure that non-industrial components can work normally at low temperature. The equipment is functional when the ambient temperature is between -40ºC and +55ºC.
BS8900A is neatly structured and reasonably laid out, featured with good ventilation and cooling system. It is designed in full consideration of security and convenience of installation, operation and maintenance.
With these features, BS8900A provides a fast deployment, low cost and equipment room free solution.
