4140 alloy steel has better mechanical properties than carbon steel, alloy structural steel, especially high performance heat treatment.

4140 alloy steel is commonly smelted by electric arc furnace and oxygen top-blown converter , if need a higher demanding, it can be smelted by refining outside the furnace, esr, or vacuuming or double vacuum smelting, vacuum induction furnace smelting, appropriate heat treatment.

the alloy element content of this kind of steel is quite high, mainly are corrosion resistant steel, heat-resistant steel, wear-resistant steel, steel and other special physical and chemical properties of  the steel.
