The kind of gear hobbing machine has a structure that a work table is fixed, while a large column conduct feed motion along the guideway of the bed. Sliding plate drives hob box conduct vertical feed motion along large column. The machine consists of the following parts: bed, large column, work table, transmission case, main tool post, vertical lifting slide carriage, rear column, cooling device, hydraulic device, electric control system, attached components.

1. Bed

Two sides of the bed are respectively connected with work table and transmission case. There is a channel for oil return to cooling device between two guideway of the bed near the work table. The cooling device, set one side of the bed, not only gather coolant oil, but also used for the collection of cutting scraps.

2. Large column

Large column is placed above the bed, which can conduct feed motion along the bed guideway. The adoption of ball screw and counterweight of large column can balance the weight of tool post.

3. Work table

The work table is used with disc chuck for bearing alignment and gear oil separator for oil separation which can make sure oil well-distributed at each static pressure point. The machine is also equipped with static oil tank and static control system for control of system and measuring of bearing static pressure to make sure the work table can rotate with safety and stability. For work table indexing motion, it adopts precise double pitch worm wheel for transmission. The thickness of double pitch worm is increasing along axial direction; therefore when the worm gear is worn, the axial movement of worm can effectively eliminate wear gap which ensures that a gear is well engaged.

4. Transmission case

Transmission case which is set on the back end of the bed is main output device of the machine. The transmission case is equipped with spindle transmission mechanism, pitch graduation mechanism, differential mechanism, indexing mechanism, which can complete the movement of spindle speed change, gear indexing, differential and single gear indexing for product processing when cooperated with hydraulic system and electric control system.

5. Lifting sliding carriage

The lifting sliding carriage conducts vertical motion along the large column manually or automatically which drive tool post to complete the processing of climb milling, conventional milling and rapid vertical motion.

6. Tool post

Main post set on lifting sliding carriage which can make a rotation of ±45°angle which can meet the requirements of processing spur or helical gears. The tool post also equipped with 5 specifications of hob arbor: 40mm, 50mm, 60mm, 70mm, 80mm for installation of different specification hob and for the processing of different modulus gear. Material of hob arbor is 40Cr.
