All our drop down loft hatches are designed to be fitted with the minimum fuss and labour, while offering insulation and draft proofing to recommended industry standards. These Loft access doors provide simple, easy access through a ceiling into your loft space.
The twist action catch system engages the frame in three locations and prevents the door from bowing, meaning that the insulating foam compression seal is in constant contact with the frame and provides an effective air/vapour seal. Also the catches prevent wind uplift from drafty loft spaces.
The high impact, expanded polystyrene Insulation is over 50mm thick making it very effective at insulating your property. It is also CFC free.
All doors have a white, easy to clean, finely textured finish and classic design to suit all interiors which doesn’t need to be painted.
A pole attachment is supplied for opening the door from floor level.
The “drop down” hinged design allows use of any loft ladder.
Purpose made loft access doors like these save time and money compared to traditional joiner-made timber loft access doors.
You will need to make an opening of 562mm wide x 726mm long to accommodate this hatch.
This product is designed to fit between 38mm thick trussed rafters or ceiling joists spaced at 600mm centres which provide a clear joist opening width of 562mm
Frame seals to ceiling to ensure a tight insulated fit in the opening you have made.
Loft doors meet the requirements of the BS 9250:2007, BS EN 13141-1:2004 & BS 5250: 2002, which cover air tightness of ceilings in pitched and horizontal roofs, air leakage rate through the loft hatch and frame and control of condensation in buildings.
These Loft Doors have also been tested and meet the requirements of the Building Regulations 2000, Conservations of Fuel and Power in New Dwellings part L1A 2006 as well as the reasonable limit for the design air permeability of 10m³/(h.m²) at 50pa.
The insulation used in all Manthorpe loft doors has an Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP) of zero and a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of less than 5.
If required, the door can be removed completely.
Comes complete with 10 fixing screws and fitting instructions written in plain English.
