# Composition of Air Shield Dams   Air shield dams (also known as pneumatic shield dams) are innovative, flexible hydraulic structures designed for water level regulation, combining the advantages of rubber dams and steel gates. Their composition is engineered for efficiency, adaptability, and durability, consisting of the following core components:  

## 1. Inflatable Airbag (Core Supporting Structure)   The airbag is the primary load-bearing element, typically constructed from high-strength synthetic rubber composites—reinforced with multiple layers of nylon or polyester cords to withstand high internal pressure and external water pressure.   ## 4. Inflation/Deflation System   This system controls the airbag’s pressure to adjust the dam’s height, consisting of:   - **Air Compressors or Blowers**: Provide compressed air to inflate the airbag, with pressure regulators to maintain safe operating levels (typically 0.1–0.3 MPa).   - **Valves and Pipes**: Manage air flow—inflation valves introduce air, while deflation valves release air to lower the dam. Check valves prevent reverse air flow.   - **Pressure Sensors and Control Panels**: Monitor air pressure in real time and allow manual or automated operation, enabling precise adjustment of the shield plate’s height for water level regulation.

Auxiliary Systems   - **Safety Devices**: Overpressure relief valves (to prevent airbag damage from excessive pressure) and emergency deflation systems (for rapid lowering during floods).   - **Monitoring Sensors**: Water level sensors, flow meters, and structural stress sensors to track performance and trigger alerts for maintenance or adjustments.
